Post Sale Management Best Practices

After the sale ends, there are several important tasks to manage. These tasks are collectively referred to as Post-Sale Management. They include:
- Making payments
- Applying vehicles to a floor plan
- Acquiring purchase protection
- Requesting post-sale inspections
- Printing vehicle release or gate passes
- Handling vehicles that didn’t sell
1. Access Post-Sale Management
- Navigate to Post-Sale Management from the Quick Links section of the Manheim homepage.
2. Financial Snapshot
At the top of the Post-Sale Management page, you’ll find a financial snapshot of your account:
- What you owe Manheim (if you’ve purchased vehicles)
- What Manheim owes you (if you’ve sold vehicles)
These totals are clickable:
- Click on the amount you owe to make a payment.
- Click on the amount Manheim owes you to view the details.
3. Making a Payment
To make a payment:
- Click on the amount you owe.
- Select the vehicle you owe for.
- In a real account, you’ll see a Make Payment button where you can choose your payment method and process the payment.
4. Apply to Floor Plan
If you use a floor plan like NextGear, you can apply eligible vehicles to your floor plan account directly from the Post-Sale Management page.
5. Post-Sale Inspections & Purchase Protection
You can manage both Post-Sale Inspections and Purchase Protection from here:
- Purchase Protection: Some vehicles are eligible for protection. Eligible vehicles will appear in the Eligibility Box, and you can choose from different protection plans (7-day, 14-day, etc.).
- Post-Sale Inspection: If an inspection is in progress, it will be shown here. A trained mechanic will inspect the vehicle to ensure it meets your expectations.
6. Arbitration & Vehicle Status
For vehicles in Arbitration or those that need inspection, you’ll see their status clearly:
- If the vehicle is ready for buyer pick-up, it will show the status Ready for Pick-Up.
- You can click to request a vehicle release if the vehicle is ready for pick-up.
- If the vehicle is not ready, the status will not show Ready.
7. Additional Features
- Transportation Orders: If you need transportation for a purchased vehicle, you can place an order directly from this page by clicking the Order button.
8. Key Functions After the Sale
Here’s a summary of the tasks you can handle in Post-Sale Management:
- Make Payments: Settle your bills after purchases.
- Floor Plan Applications: Apply vehicles to your floor plan for financing.
- Purchase Protection: Purchase protection plans for eligible vehicles.
- Post-Sale Inspections: Request or track post-sale inspections.
- Vehicle Release: Print gate passes or release forms.

By staying on top of these tasks, you can quickly manage your purchases, get your vehicles back to your dealership, and sell them fast.
