NEW FOR 2025
Manheim is launching a certification program for our facilities to safely and consistently care for electric vehicles on our property.
The popularity and prevalence of electric vehicles are surging in both new and used markets. Manheim, the world’s largest wholesale used vehicle marketplace, is taking action to be your trusted partner to store, repair, and remarket electric vehicles (EVs).
EVs are unique in important ways, and Manheim is equipping our facilities and technicians with the tools and training to continue to provide the same comprehensive service for electric vehicles that you have come to expect from us. We are dedicated to maintaining a marketplace where our buyers and sellers can transact with confidence.
Manheim is launching a certification program for our facilities to safely and consistently care for electric vehicles on our property.
When you buy or sell an EV through Manheim, you can trust that your asset will be properly cared for while it is in our custody. We’re EV certifying over 90% of Manheim locations by 2026. This certification includes:
Two or more Level 2 EV chargers on premises
Facility-wide EV fire safety training
EV driving, charging, and servicing training for lot operations personnel
Emergency response plans for potential battery events
LotVision monitoring for safe state of charge and vehicle charging when appropriate
Manheim inspections include VIN-specific battery health score
Continued partnership with clients, energy providers, and local governments to stay ready to meet the needs of our clients
A subset of EV-certified Manheim locations will be appointed as EV Battery Hubs, offering two service levels:
Battery Storage and Pack Aggregation
Designated locations will store batteries for rapid fulfillment for Manheim and dealer service orders, offering faster service times for dealers and owners.
Batteries stored at these Manheim locations will be kept in custom, secure, climate-controlled storage containers with fire suppression
New and core packs will be aggregated to full containers, reducing the overall carbon footprint and freight expense of battery service.
Battery Handling
Designated Manheim locations will offer battery swaps on vehicles supporting wholesalers and dealers.
Perform crate swaps for damaged, defective, and recalled batteries into DOT approved dunnage.

Manheim works in partnership with our sister company, EV Battery Solutions by Cox Automotive, to provide battery lifecycle services outside of the vehicle, including remanufacturing and recycling solutions to ensure batteries are properly managed and disposed of.
Manheim looks forward to continuing to service our dealers, consigners, and other clients in any way possible, including electric vehicles.
