Limited Arbitration Rights Policy

Effective April 1, 2026

This “Limited Arbitration Rights” policy serves as an umbrella policy for three existing transaction practices that all have very limited arbitration eligibility. By consolidating these long‑standing practices into a single national policy, Manheim is improving clarity and ensuring consistent application across the marketplace.

Vehicles with Limited or No Arbitration Rights

This policy establishes standardized arbitration guidelines for three vehicle segments where arbitration rights are intentionally limited while maintaining essential buyer protections.

  1. Total Resource Auctions (TRA) Vehicles
    • All vehicles sold through Manheim’s Total Resource Auctions platform, TRA-designated sale channels, or with a TRA designation.
  1. Vehicles $3,000 and Under
    • Regardless of selling light, all vehicles sold for $3,000 or less
  1. Vehicles Announced “As-Is, No Arbitration”
    • Sellers must announce “As-Is, No Arbitration” and sell under the Red light.
    • Announcement must be made verbally (when applicable) and in writing in the vehicle listing

All vehicles in the above segments are “As-Is” with limited arbitration rights.

Arbitration is only allowed for:

  • Inoperative odometer, True Miles Unknown/Not Actual Miles
  • Title branding, discrepancies, or encumbrances
  • Requirements required by law
  • Other written or verbal representations by the seller

No other defects are eligible for arbitration nor are there any mechanical or structural guarantees.
