Digital Sales:
For Simulcast and Timed Sale (OVE) purchases, buyers have ten (10) calendar days from the sale date to file an arbitration claim, with the sale date counting as day one (1).
In-Lane Sales:
In accordance with NAAA guidelines, arbitration claims for in-lane purchases must be filed by the close of business on sale day. Any vehicle being arbitrated must also be returned to the selling auction by the close of gate hours on sale day. At Manheim’s sole discretion, the vehicle return deadline may be extended to noon on the following business day in very limited circumstances.
Claim Processing Timelines:
To ensure the arbitration process progresses in a timely manner, the following arbitration claim milestones must each be completed by the buyer within five (5) calendar days of notification or request from the Arbitrator.
Buyers are expected to act with a sense of urgency at each stage. In the event a buyer fails to meet one or more of these deadlines, Manheim may, at its sole discretion, close the arbitration claim.
These timelines exist to protect the efficiency and integrity of the arbitration process — not to unfairly penalize buyers or relieve sellers of liability on a technicality when a claim has merit. Furthermore, a seller has no authority or right to demand dismissal of a claim based solely on a buyer’s procedural delay.
